PC game The Apartment is an psychological thriller game which is bringing together quite unique mix of genres. All the adventure, interesting puzzles and action …all tied together with dark and heavy story. Neither it is a pure horror game nor complete adventurous. Being detective James Sachs, you will have to lead the investigation of several murders in your area. Some young girls were found dead, arranged but with some strange injuries that don’t make any sense. Now, you will have to find out who those girls were…what was the reason behind their murder. You have to catch the real culprit before there comes some other victim. The case might prove to be difficult and challenging that you can ever experience.

Main and the most exciting part of the game is that of detective work that is focused on exploring crime scenes, searching for evidence, connecting clues, completing simple word puzzles and piece together the whole scenario to find out the true story. Not only based on the evidence you can find killer, you can also make wrong choices. You have to pay attention on your actions, otherwise your investigation may ends up in a dead end.

Rather than jump-scares or survival horror, the horror part of the game is all focused on psychological horror.  There is no monster hurting you down or there is no threat (but it doesn’t mean that you can’t die in this game).

The main purpose is to make the player uncomfortable by creating unsettling and eerie atmosphere. What is  the main purpose? what is your goal? To survive? to win? No matter what happened, the only thing you are sure of is, nothing makes sense anymore. Everything is unexpected! You can never tell what is waiting for your at the next corner as there is no clear line between “investigation” and “horror” parts.
